My husband and I live with our three furkids in Ohio. We have had dogs for more than 20 years, and I for most of my life. Jake, 14, is a mellow, red-headed dachshund; Windy, 8, is a black and tan mini dachshund; and Max, whom we welcomed after Christmas, is a four-year-old salt-and-pepper mini schnauzer with diabetes.
Last fall we lost Hope, whom we have had for nearly two years. She was a white mini schnauzer who spent five years in an Amish puppy mill. Hope lost her battle to lymphoma. To honor her, and help other dogs, we promote education and the eradication of puppy mills.
